News: Dance Dance Revolution Announced For Wii

Konami today announced that it is bringing a new edition of its popular Dance Dance Revolution franchise to Nintendo's new-generation console, Wii.

Konami have today announced that a new entry into the Dance Dance Revolution franchise will be appearing on the Nintendo Wii.

The game will be entitled Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party, and the useage of the Wiimote will make this title truely unique and different to past games.

The title will also feature several multiplayer modes, including Friendly Synch Multiplayer, where gamers are forced to dance and use the wiimote in unison. There is battle mode, where gamers compete against each other, and where the wiimote is used to 'distract' the opposition. Sounds very interesting, indeed.

Like traditional DDR games, Hottest Party requires that players coordinate with on-screen arrows, tapping each arrow on their dance pad with their feet. In addition to this traditional theme, Konami's debut Wii DDR title also employs use of the Wii-mote, requiring gamers to wave the controller at precise moments.

Konami have also made extremely good use of the Gamecube ports at the back of the console, which will allow dancemats to be plugged into. You will also be able to use your Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix pads, as well.

Of course, the game will also feature some chart-topping hits, but a full tracklist is not available at this present moment in time.
