News: Dead or Alive: Dimensions Banned in Sweden

Sweden's child pornography laws have prevented Dead or Alive: Dimensions from getting released. Jvlar!

Team Ninja's upcoming 3DS fighter Dead or Alive: Dimensions seems to be facing a number of problems when it comes to Europe. According to Nintendo World Report the Swedish government has banned the game from being released there because it violates their child pornography laws.

The title features a mode in which players can take photographs of characters and this mode apparently conflicts with Sweden's child pornography laws, which outlaws a child from being viewed in pornographic contexts, even in fiction.

The Swedish police allegedly threatened Bergsala, the game's distributor in Sweden, and now customers have been receiving emails stating that the game will not see the light of day. Norway and Denmark will also not be offering Dead or Alive: Dimensions, resulting in pre-orders being refunded and records of the game being eradicated in those countries.
