Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance sold 2 miilion copies between it's release and July 8th. However, this is across all platforms so one would wonder how many are actually Gamecube copies.
Chicago - July 8, 2003 -Midway Games Inc., a leading software industry publisher and developer, announced today that Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance has sold-through more than two million units worldwide in combined sales, across all platforms, between its November 22, 2002 launch and July 8, 2003. The game is currently available for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox video game system from Microsoft, Nintendo GameCube and Game Boy Advance.
"Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance took gamers by storm, and these numbers prove the franchise is continuing to define the fighting genre," said Helene Sheeler, vice president of marketing, Midway. The leading gaming media have also recognized Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance as a top choice. GamePro Magazine's 13th Annual Readers Choice Award for the best fighting game went to Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, while GameSpot declared the game "Best fighting game of 2002" for Xbox and Nintendo GameCube, and IGN included it among its "Editor's Choice Awards" for PlayStation 2, Xbox and Nintendo GameCube. In March 2003, Gaming World X crowned Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance as the "Best Fighter" on Xbox.

Adding to the punishing action in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance is Arista Records' Adema, which has recorded a hard-driving, heavy, yet melodic modern rock theme song titled "Immortal," done exclusively for this new Mortal Kombat videogame and featured as the lead track in the band's follow-up EP to its self-titled debut album.
