Electronic Arts has announced a new game titled Def Jam Vendetta. It mixes Wrestling with hip-hop, an unlikely game but it looks promising.
It is set in an alternative universe where Def Jam artists fight each other in underground fight clubs. 45 Def Jam artists will be up for selection, and 12 of those are real life Def Jam artists. With 10 venues and over 1500 this game has a lot to offer for a Wrestling fan who wants something different.
"There is a great symmetry between the youth culture of Def Jam and what we are doing with Def Jam VENDETTA that brings an edgy, new attitude into the ring," said EA vice president Jeff Karp. Kevin Liles, president of Def Jam, went even further in his statement: "The partnership between the brands of Def Jam and EA will bring a new level of excitement to the video game industry. The lifestyle appeal of our artists, combined with intense gameplay in Def Jam Vendetta will redefine the way you think about video games."
The game is being co-developed with Aki Corporation, the company whos previous hits include WCW/NWO Revenge and WWF No Mercy. This title is not one to push to the side and forget about!
