News: Disaster Sales Poor, No US Release?

One disaster possibly too big even for the game's hero to solve - the title's own sales figures.
Since its release across Europe several weeks ago, Nintendo and Monolith Soft's apocalyptic adventurer title Disaster: Day of Crisis has disappointed in terms of sales, with the game failing to chart in the UK's top 40, Ireland or Norway's top 20, and neither Germany or Spain's top 10. Even in Wii specific charts, the title did not make into the top 50 Wii games sold in the UK last week.
These abysmally low figures contrast with generally above average review scores from the press - including 82% from the Official Nintendo Magazine in the UK and a healthy 31/40 from Japanese weekly gaming bible Famitsu.
Do Nintendo have some twisted secret agenda where they want the game to fail? A complete lack of advertising for the title has turned a potential hit into a major sales failure - meaning Nintendo's US President (no, not Obama) Reggie Fils-Aime will get his wish that the game (which he himself has slated) will not see release at all in the States.
