News: DK Bongo Blast Details!

Now here's a game we haven't heard of in a while. Confirmed as coming to the Wii in Japan this summer, come see what's changed since last we saw it...

The last we heard of DK Bongo Blast was back at E3 2006, where it was silently revealed alongside Super Paper Mario as the last GameCube games Nintendo would be developing for their now-outdated purple console. Nothing has been seen of it since, though speculation was rife that since Super Paper Mario had been Wii-ised, the same would happen with DK.

Indeed, the latest issue of Famitsu has the latest details, with a confirmation that the title has been promoted to the Wii, with all traces of Bongo Drum controls excised from the game. Instead, gamers must shake the Wii-mote and Nunchuck together to accelerate each end of their barrel-racer, with turns achieved by powering one side more than the other, and jumps attainable by raising both controllers in the air.

Seven worlds and sixteen courses feature in the title, set for release in Japan on June 28th. Four-way split-screen multiplayer has also been conformed. More details as we get them.
