News: Downloadable Content For Twilight Princess?

Update! Whilst looking at the original interview, we can reveal that some information was mis-understood. No online or downloadable component for Twilight Princess appears to be confirmed as in the works. Sorry, folks.

Nintendo of America's George Harrison says Twilight Princess will have future downloadable content.

No doubt, The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess is already at the top of many of your pre-order lists. However, it turns out that there may be one more feature that this game has that we didn't know about. Until now...

According to Nintendo of America's George Harrison, Nintendo plan to support Twilight Princess with downloadable content, such as additional 'levels'.

The Big N recently invited members of the media up to its headquarters in Seattle to spend roughly 10 hours with the adventure, and during the event, game magazine GamePro sat down with the company's senior vice president, George Harrison, to talk about the title.

In their discussion about Twilight Princess, Harrison revealed an interesting tidbit of information. According to him, Nintendo plans to support the game post-launch with downloadable content, such as additional "levels." In typical Nintendo style, Harrison didn't offer any other information on the topic.

This isn't the first time a Nintendo executive has spoken on the subject of downloadable content for Wii. Earlier this year, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime confirmed downloadable content via Nintendo's always-online service WiiConnect24 would be a possibility.

Twilight Princess, however, is the first game Nintendo has spoken specifically about in regards to downloadable content.

Downloadable content would be most excellent. Now all we need is Nintendo to announce the details, to give us concrete proof that this information is correct.
