Today several reports on the internet claim that developer DIMPS is developing a new Dragon Ball Z game for Atari, entitled Dragon Ball Z: Saiyan Smash! It is said that the title will be released Q1 2004 for the PS2, and Q3 2004 for the Nintendo GameCube.

Of course, as soon as we got word, we contacted Atari to see if there really is a new game in the works. This is what a company representative had to say:

"I cannot confirm it yet, but I will also not deny it!"

This statement makes us believe that there is indeed a new title in the works for both the PS2 and GameCube. We will probably have to wait for the official announcement on this mystery title until after the release of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai for the GameCube next month.

UPDATE: The game has been added to the official Nintendo of America games list. Unfortunately, the page reveals no game details. It does confirm the release date - Q3 2004. More as it breaks!
