News: Dragon Quest Collection Releasing on Wii

Square-Enix package together Dragon Quest's first ever iterations to celebrate the franchise's 25th anniversary...

Taking a leaf out of Nintendo's book, Square-Enix is putting together a classic package to commemorate the 25th birthday of one its talismanic franchises.

The company is releasing the first three Dragon Quest games all on one Wii disc. Dragon Quest, Dragon Quest II and Dragon Quest III all released in Japan on the Famicom in the late 80s, and each became a huge success, propelling the series to become the number one RPG brand for the time.

Not only that, but the disc will also contain the Super Famicom remakes Dragon Quest I & II and Dragon Quest III. The games will all be playable with either a Wii Remote, Gamecube or Classic Controller.

The bundle is due to release in Japan this September, with no doubt plenty of other little treats thrown in for good measure.

Chances of a western release? Slim, at best.
