RPG nuts might want to get their pens and calendars at hand, as Nintendo confirms the European release date for the long-in-localisation Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies. The DS-exclusive epic will be hitting our shores on July 23rd. The news comes as Nintendo of America announces their respected date as July 11th.

The game has sold a whopping 4.2 million units in Japan alone since releasing last summer. Nintendo themselves are stepping in for publishing duties for the west in an attempt to boost the game's popularity outside its homeland, much like last month's successful Monster Hunter Tri.
