Play the role of a monster hunter in this Dragon Quest spin-off as of October 7th.

Nintendo of Europe has just announced that Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 will be released across Europe on October 7th. The DS title is a spin-off from the popular Dragon Quest series and places you in the role of a monster hunter who must capture and train wild monsters that escape following an airship crash.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 promises over 250 monsters to hunt, capture and train and numerous final bosses from other titles in the franchise, which is bound to please fans. Each monster has unique abilities, skills and attributes and can grow into more powerful monsters. You can also synthesise new monsters, allowing you to create and breed monsters to match your needs.

The monsters belong to one of seven families, which include Slime, Dragon, Demon and Zombie, and can be pitted against each other online. The 'World Monster Championship' divides everyone into one of five classes, based on the power of your monsters, and you battle random players from around the world.

Tag Mode is also supported in Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2, meaning you can connect with owners of Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Reverie and Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies so that you can find even more monsters. The official trailer can be seen below.
