The Game Boy Colour classic is getting a new lick of paint for 3DS...

Another day, another new Dragon Quest announced for a Nintendo system. This time, it's a remake of the very first Dragon Quest Monsters title, which first released on the Game Boy Colour in 1998.

The Montsers spin-off line of games has always been best described by its similarity to Pokémon, with the aim of recruiting monsters from the Dragon Quest universe and forming a kick-ass party. More recent DS iterations have been released in the form of Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker and its sequel.

The remake's name translates as Dragon Quest Monsters Terry's Wonderland 3D, and will include all the creatures from Joker 2, plus new ones, as well as new quests.

It is due out in Japan some time in 2012.
