News: Dream-On Studio Interview

The developers behind the DS zombie-thwarting game talk about future plans for the Wii and Virtual Console.

Touch the Dead DS, originally named Dead 'N' Furious, is a zombie killing game for the Nintendo DS developed by Dream-On Studio. In a recent interview with Cubed3, the developers revealed their plans for the DS's motion sensing sibling, and also several other of their projects.

First of all, the developers revealed that their game is now finished and ready to be published. Expect a release on May 15th 2007 in the US. Secondly, in a surprise revelation, when Dream-On were asked if the game would be ported to other systems, a remake on the Wii was announced! Ben Yoris, the director of Dream-On Studio, said, "We think the game play could be easily adapted to the Wii. Of course the Wii would offer more possibilities in terms of motion detection for close range weapons, for example." Excellent news for Wii fans! A Wi-Fi mode may be on the cards for the Wii version, as the director said that it may be added in another version.

As a small announcement, Treasure Quest for the GBA has shifted development to the DS. Nothing more was said on the matter.

Yoris also shared his opinions on the Wii being able to compete with the Xbox 360 and PS3. Yoris believes that the graphics don't matter, as long as the atmosphere in a game is right.

On a final note, Yoris said that Dream-On are considering releasing smaller game projects on the Virtual Console. You can read the full interview here. Stay tuned for more on Dream-On's projects.
