Astonishingly lighter, brighter, and downright sexier than the original design, the DS Lite is finally on sale across Europe today. Four and a half million of the original DS have already been sold in Europe, with sales swollen by popular software titles such as Animal Crossing: Wild World, Mario Kart DS, and the recently launched Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain?.

The future looks Lite (see what we did there?) for Nintendo with the DS. Forthcoming software for Europe includes New Super Mario Bros., which has already sold phenomenally well across the globe.
