Sales of more than 10 million for Nintendo's innovative little handheld.

Nintendo are starting 2007 on a real high note, and are reporting that DS sales have exceeded more than 10 million units in North America alone.

Since its release in late 2004, it is being reported by Nintendo that roughly nine consumers have been purchasing DS units every 60 seconds. Pretty hard to believe, but we're going to take Nintendo's word for it.

It has been estimated that more than 35 million DS units have been sold worldwide, with 14.4 million of those units coming in its homeland of Japan, 10 million from the US, and roughly 11 million in other territories.
