A few small news pieces all revolving around the Nintendo DS are contained, featuring new games, new details of old games and old rumours squashed.
A new DS title has been announced, while the storyline is the typical "you wake up, unsure who you are or where you are" affair found in recent titles such as XIII and Second Sight what has got the internet buzzing is that little phrase, 'internet compatible'.
Nanostray is a 3D shoot'em up title from Shin'en, creators of Iridion 3D, which offers wireless 2 player multiplayer and internet high score boards as well. The title is due out during the first quarter of 2005. Some screenshots can be found below.
Planet GameCube recently spoke to producer of the upcoming Urbz DS title. The interview gave new light on how the touch screen will be utilised, mini-games included in the game and the general making of the game.
Q: What do you think will set The URBZ apart from the rest of the DS games?
A: The Urbz is set up for customization and use of the second screen to track other important information needed while players explore Miniopolis. Players need and want to keep a nice place to live. Players will be able to create their own paintings and then trade them with other players. The touchscreen makes for unique and challenging mini-games not possible without the second screen. Players will get a real-time map letting them know where they are in the world, making finding vehicles and goal locations much faster and easier. It is not just one key feature that sets The Urbz apart, it is all of the features that makes The Urbz on the DS a natural fit and a really fun game.

It has also recently been confirmed that dolls based on the Urbz game will be available to purchase in America from November.
Microsoft have denied the rumours that Rare are working on Nintendo DS titles. A recent Q&A with the Rare team hinted that they may secretly be working on DS titles, but Microsoft have stated that Rare are staying focused on Windows and Xbox titles are present.
According a an email somebody sent me a retailer worked in Australia has said that a Nintendo spokesperson recently spoke to the store, Mr Toys Toyworld, about the Nintendo DS.
Apparently the Nintendo DS will be released towards the end of February or in early March next year, retailing for $AUS199.99. He also stated the games will cost $AUS10 less then Game Boy Advance games.
As always this is just speculation and is not to be taken too serious until Nintendo give some word themselves.
