News: DSi Sales Rise Following Price Drop

Nintendo UK touts a spike in DSi sales since the system came down in price...

A few weeks ago, we reported that Nintendo's DSi was set to come down in price in the UK market. With most retailers now selling the device at under 130, it looks like interest in the brand has seen revitalisation, with sales steadily rising since the slash.

Nintendo's ineffable Rob Saunders made a statement on the improved sales:

"Since the adjustment in trade price has been passed on to consumers, each of the previous three weeks have seen DSi sales increase by over 40 per cent week-on-week."

Nintendo also confirmed that the 'Price Crash' TV campaign would continue to run for another two weeks during the run-up to summer holidays. Thereafter, the company will launch a new family-based TV spot aiming to capitalise on the holidays.

Did the price drop nudge you to purchase a DSi?
