News: EA Considering Reimagining Old Franchises

An EA executive states that they are looking to bring back some old franchises.
EA Labels president Frank Gibeau is present at Gamescom at the moment and spoke to CVG about the possibility of reviving some of EA's old franchises. While he did not announce specific details he did drop a few hints that are bound to entice retro gamers.
Mr. Gibeau claims that Electronic Arts is considering reworking and reimagining some of their old franchises but they want to make sure they're worth playing. "We've got 25 years of good IPs," he states before claiming that EA always thinks about how they can make sure a revival is "fresh and brings something new to the equation of the franchise". He points to their revival of Medal of Honor as one such example of bringing a new angle to a series.
He doesn't name specific titles that they are considering but he twice refers to the Road Rash games and Strike series as he worked on both. Whether or not he is subtly announcing something or merely naming retro franchises he likes is unknown.
It seems EA takes the process of updating and reimagining seriously. Frank Gibeau notes "we can't just put them on new tech with the same gameplay from ten years ago, we've got to have something new". Hopefully we'll hear more about these games soon but let us know which classic EA games you'd love to see modernised.
