News: EA Developing 40 Wii & DS Titles

EA CEO John Riccitiello reveals that the Western publishing giant is currently developing 40 games for both the Wii and DS.

Two days ago, EA's CEO stated that the company was going to focus more on Wii and DS after initially underestimating the consoles. Yesterday in EA's investor conference, Riccitiello showed that he truly means business.

Following the critical and commercial success of Boom Blox, the industry giant revealed that it is currently developing 40 games for Wii and DS together that are tailored specifically for both consoles' unique capabilities, valuing "quality over quantity" (which is a stark and refreshing contrast to a certain few other developers).

We know of a lot of EA titles currently in development, including the new EA Sports brand for the Wii and DS entitled All-Play, continuations of the Sims franchise with Sim Animals, Will Wright's Spore Creatures for the DS, and Skate It for both consoles. Let's hope we get to see what else EA have been up to in the near future...
