Game Developer magazine's annual countdown of the industry's top 20 publishers sees gaming behemoth EA knocked off the top spot for the first time in five years.
It's not just console giants Microsoft and Sony that have been losing their grip on the top spot in recent days. The annual report of the Top 20 games publishers in Game Developer magazine has revealed that publishing giant EA Games, famous for franchises such as The Sims and FIFA as well as original IPs such as Boogie, has been knocked off the publication's top spot for the first time since the report was first written five years ago.
Reeling out game after game of unsurpassed genius and innovation, Nintendo it seems are truly back on top. The mega-publisher have churned out wonderful content such as The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess in the past year, with more masterpieces such as Super Mario Galaxy, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Endless Ocean are set to follow in the coming months.
A newcomer to the list at #18 is Atlus USA, knocking Atari off the list completely.
