News: EA President Quits

Electronic Arts President has quit Electronics Arts to start his own technology company.

Electronic Art's President John Riccitiello has resigned from EA. At present he is to stay with the company during a transition period which will probably be until after E3 in May.

"This is a case of somebody who's at the top and wants to start his own company, do his own thing," an EA press representative told IGN. "EA is strong on all fronts, and there really isn't a better time for him to leave. John is leaving with a strong sense of accomplishment and it's time to start something new. He's going to start a venture capitol company in the two things he knows best, technology and entertainment."

Electronic Arts have already begun screening candidates to replace John Riccitiello.
