The COO of EA Games Peter Moore has stated that the company has made a "commitment to Nintendo" to back next year's Wii U console.

The former Microsoft executive also told Reuters that, contrary to previous rumours, the state of the console was perfectly on-track for its planned course of a 2012 release, saying "there are no indications that there's anything that feels like it's off target".

Moore also revealed that he would personally be travelling to Nintendo's headquarters in Kyoto next week to see for himself the system's current status. He divulged that "specs are a big to deal" to EA when approaching Wii U, adding that he also wanted know a price point and release window.

Finally, he echoed EA president John Riccitiello's vociferous support of the console at E3 this year.

"Our teams are working on it around the world. Our key franchises will be there. We've made that commitment to Nintendo."

In June, the then head of EA Sports emphasised that the new controller would allow for new possibilities with the company's sports titles like Fifa and Madden. Yesterday, we also saw the possibility of EA's Dead Space franchise hitting Wii U.
