News: EIDOS' Profits Down
Posted 24 Jun 2004 at 20:40 by Ashley Jones
It seems that EIDOS aren't doing too well, with profits taking a big nose dive and the future looking bleak.
It seems that EIDOS may be up for sale after loosing a lot of money on recent titles such as Hitman: Contracts and Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness.
While no companies have confirmed a bid it is expected that the usual big companies such as Sony, Microsoft and Electronic Arts are expected to bid.
EIDOS stated that the video games company is partially to blame. They stated that there is too much of an emphasis on profit and the "continuing need to invest more heavily in research and development ahead of the next hardware cycle."
Update:
EIDOS have replied to the reports on their profits by saying that they are not becoming "for sale" or their profits are not down by 6 million, as some analysts have suggested.
EIDOS stated that they may see some loss but they are certainly not quitting yet.
