News: Enter The Conduit

Danger, danger! High Voltage Software are creating a built-from-the-ground-up FPS game for our beloved Waggled One.

Many Wii owners cried themselves to sleep when the Marmite of Wii launch games, Red Steel, proved to be ever so slightly disappointing in terms of controls and general developer effort. Luckily, FPS games on the Wii have improved dramatically with the likes of Metroid Prime 3, Medal of Honor: Heroes 2, and even classic arcadey shooters such as Ghost Squad. High Voltage Software are looking to add another little beauty to the Wii's arsenal of FPS gems, with the announcement of brand new title The Conduit.

The Conduit is set in present day Washington D.C. which has come under fire from an alien horde hellbent on wiping out every form of life on the planet. The task to send the invading scum back to their galaxy far, far away falls down to Federal Agent Ford, who must wield massively oversized firearms to discover the truth behind this attack.

High Voltage Software have built a new engine specifically for this Wii title from the ground up called Quantum3. To save you all the technical lingo, this will allow The Conduit to sport loads of highly advanced visuals and graphical effects normally seen on the Wii's higher definition competitors... and this is all intended to run at 60 frames per second.

Head over to IGN to see the full preview and some gorgeous screenshots. The Conduit is currently without a publisher, so join the N-Europe team in deep prayer for a decent company to pick this up.
