News: Epic Mickey Influenced by Disney's History

The upcoming Epic Mickey won't just draw on Mickey Mouse's past but also many other films in the rich Disney catalogue.

Epic Mickey is quickly becoming the must have game for Disney fans. Not only are many elements of the title based on moments from Mickey's 70 year history, as well as numerous characters from a broad spectrum of Disney titles, but Warren Spector has recently discussed how the game draws its influences from a lot of Disney films.

The Independent has reported from a talk Warren Spector, the game's director, gave at Paris Games Week. According to Mr. Spector Epic Mickey takes inspiration from titles such as Peter Pan, the Pirates of the Caribbean series, The Jungle Book, Alice in Wonderland (the 1951 version, not the recent Tim Burton version) and many others.

Mary Blair, who has worked on Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland, was given particular praise for her work. She has designed the beautiful cut scenes that are found in the game, an example of which can be seen above.

The game is due out at the end of November and with each new morsel of information or trailer the game seems to improve. Stay tuned to N-Europe for our hands on impressions soon.
