News: eShop Iwata Asks

Iwata talks to the team behind the newly released eShop.

Now that this years E3 has officially closed it's doors, a new Iwata Asks column has been released. This time talking about the new eShop with how it got developed along with it's aims and goals.

The column begins the creaters reading mass amounts of feedback from the release of the DSiShop, which Nintendo admits that they never got everyones input in it's development but instead only put in the minimal functions needed for a shop, but with the eShop they now intend to try and replicate the shopping experience and go in to the eShop for no particular reason. It was also stated that eShop will have different regional managers, which can freely rearrange the 'shelves' in the eShop for new titles and promotions and each manager could essentially pick what titles then want to sell.

One other feature with the regional managers is that each region can be compared with each other and see how well each region is doing along with things such as profit. Along with each regional manager, they also spoke about the various tax rates for each country and how much work had to be done to accomodate each area, especially in regards to the various taxes of America.

One such example in regards to special selections that can be made to each region is things such as things such as Mothers day where an appropriate list of titles will appear that may have appeal to mothers.

N-Europe will bring you more eShop news as it comes.
