News: European GDC Announced

The Game Developer's Conference will be coming to Europe this summer for a meeting in London.

Cunningly renamed with an extra E (for "Europe") the GDCE will be held at London's Le Meridien Hotel from the 30th August until the 1st of September.

Like the recent GDC event held in San Francisco, it'll feature "progressive conference sessions led by industry gurus who empowered developers to create tomorrow's games today", apparently with a special focus on developing for the next generation.

Through lectures, keynotes, panels, tutorials, and roundtable discussions, GDCE will focus on the road ahead for developers, with new visionary sessions designed to provoke innovation amongst developers and to motivate them to learn new skills essential for creating the next generation of interactive entertainment.

Jamil Moledina, Director of the Game Developers Conference added, "European developers are an essential element of publishers' global strategies as we stand on the brink of next generation console announcements and the launch titles that will define their impact. It is therefore incumbent upon us to apply our tried-and-true GDC methodology to deliver our industry leading forum to this critical market."
