More details about Wii's price drop trickle in, we contacted Nintendo's Portuguese branch to know more, as it appears UK's model won't be followed everywhere.

Earlier we reported that Wii's price is getting slashed $50 in the US and back to its original price of �179 in UK, with the addition of Wii Sports Resort and Motion Plus thrown in the box. Not knowing if this model would be followed throughout Europe, we investigated.

Portuguese PR for Nintendo Ibérica Nelson Calvinho told us that the bundle is a UK initiative that isn't planned for now in Portugal, instead, starting October 2nd the trade price will be dropped. Just to make it clear, no price was dictated by Nintendo and retailers can choose the price at which to sell it, with some stores already indicating a �200 price tag.

If all European countries will follow the same strategy we don't know, but it's a good bet. Stay tuned!
