News; Excellence Awards 2003

The Industry Excellence Awards 2003 are for professionalism, inventiveness and effort within retail & marketing and personal contribution.

At London on the 20th of February MCV will be awarding the UK interactive entertainment industry. They will honour marketing of the industry, and the people behind it.

There will be fifteen awards in total. There are three different categories, Retail, Marketing & People, each category will have 5 different awards.

There will be a panel of judges for each category. Each panel will consist of five relevant and independant industry figures plus a member of the MCV staff. Nominations will be offered by people in the business itself.

Stuart Dinsey who is the managing director of MCV said,

"There is a clear demand from within the business for a set of trade and people-focused awards that hone in on both corporate triumph and personal contribution,"

"Our awards will boast high production values, complemented by dedicated print products, and will act as the perfect link between different parts of the business - from in-store to consumer marketing and sales promotion."

"We believe they will become an important event on the industry's calendar, vastly different to any of the other successful events already existing. Industries such as music and video already have hugely important trade awards backed by their leading trade magazine and it's about time the games industry had an 'inside the business event too."

Further details of the awards and panels will be announced shortly, and the nominations will be published in a special 32-page supplement in the 31st January 2003 edition of MCV
