News: Family Fishing Comes With Wii Fishing Rod

Yuji Naka, creator of Sonic The Hedgehog, reveals his latest crazy venture into the world of games.

Yuji Naka has made some very experimental games in the last few years including Lets Tap and Ivy The Kiwi and now he's set to tap into the world of fishing simulation games with this new Wii controller.

The game, Family Fishing, is set to be released on the 5th August in Japan along with the fishing controller which is much like the Dreamcast accessory of yesteryear seen in SEGA Bass Fishing.

The game features 15 locations which include all of the usual fishing hotspots such as rivers, lakes and sea... pretty much anywhere that has water then. You can try and build up your aquarium (You don't eat the fish, that would be preposterous) or try and get a high score on the online ranking board.

Contrary to what the title may have you believe though, it's not all about fishing. There are various other things to do in the game which is set on a resort island. On the island you can drive to fishing hotspots, collect items and take part in mini games (a whole 20 are included) as well as taking part in challenges which will be accessible from the island's message board.

What do you think of this new game and the new controller? Are you excited to be fishing in an all new way or do you feel as though you have enough controllers already? Let us know in the comments section below.
