News: Far Cry Details & Screens

All the latest details straight from Ubisoft, along with the first two official screens from the game.

Based on the highly-successful Far Cry Evolution, the Wii incarnation - subtitled Vengeance - expands on the experience with a new storyline, new maps and new weapons. The game takes advantage of the revolutionary Wii Remote and Nunchuck allowing players to drive, shoot, slash, jump, and climb their way through a rebel-infested, tropical hell. Far Cry Vengeance will be a Wii launch title.

The incident at Jacutan Archipelago changed Jack Carver's life forever. Jack has had little choice but to embrace the disturbing talents unleashed by Krieger's unique brand of folk medicine. Back at his home port in Micronesia, Jack thought he had finally found paradise. But when a gorgeous woman draws him in on a dangerous heist, their sun-drenched days take a chilling turn. Hunted for a murder he didn't commit, Jack must draw on his most savage instincts to make his predators his prey.

Gamers will be able to use the Wii-mote and Nunchuck to control driving, shooting, jumping, balancing, climbing, grenading, and the title's ever-popular Feral attacking. Weapons include everything from machetes to machine guns, and players will have vehicle support from ATVs, hovercrafts, pickup trucks, Jet Skis, and many more.

Utilizing the lush, tropical surroundings to your advantage, players can stealth to sneak through the foliage past unsuspecting rebels or uncage the wrath of the predator, not the prey, as you unleash the beast within. Jump higher, run faster, and slash with more fury than all of your enemies combined through the animalistic feral abilities unique to the Far Cry series.

Multiplayer includes the frenetic Chaos mode from Vengence which sees the gamer battling to be the last person standing.
