Square Enix's Wii/DS crossover project is hitting North America - surprisingly enough - sooner rather than later.

Square Enix have today announced their plans to release Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time in the States. The game will ship on Wii and DS on March 24th, and both versions will cost $39.99.

Both the home console and handheld versions of Echoes of Time are largely identical (albeit obvious control differences), but the games feature the unique ability to allow players of either iteration to connect up with each other online, via the Pollux Engine.

Echoes of Time ships in Japan on the 29th of January, and is expected to include a trailer for Wii's much-anticipated Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers.
