Square-Enix continues its announcements today with the confirmation of Final Fantaxy XII: Revenant Wings for the DS and Dragon Quest Swords for Europe in Q1 2008.
As well as announcing curious DS role-player It's a Wonderful Life for Europe as The World Ends with You, the Japanese RPG maestros have also confirmed dates for two titles - this time ones we've had on the radar for a while.
First up, Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings has been confirmed as releasing in Europe on 15th February 2008. The title has sold over 500,000 copies in Japan already, and is set a year after the PS2's Final Fantasy XII, continuing said game's story in the world of Ivalice's airships and magick.
Square-Enix have also confirmed Wii exclusive (deep breath) Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors for Europe in a more vague "Q1 2008" date. The title makes use of the Wii-mote to control their legendary sword, along with all the usual series features. You are the game's hero, and must travel the world in the title's first-person perspective. Interestingly, this new "International version" includes "revised gameplay offering a more intense and challenging experience". Hmm.
Anyway, great news indeed, and titles that will surely fill up the release calender of any discerning role-playing fan.
