The latest news from Japan suggests that the DS re-make of Final Fantasy III will utilise the Wi-Fi Connection!

When the re-make of Final Fantasy III was announced, it only took a glance at the screenshots to see the title would be something special. Not content with merely porting the title to DS, Square-Enix have completely re-modeled all of the graphics into lush 3D... and now, it seems, have added Wi-Fi Compatibility too - according to Japanese publication Shonen Jump.

It's unsure what form this compatibility will take - whether there will be online playable areas of the game, or - more likely - whether you'll be able to take your trained party of fighters online to match them up against your mates.

The news comes with a suspected release date of June - in Japan, anyway. We'll keep you posted.
