News: Final Fantasy IV Advance Teaser Site

Square-Enix Japan has put up a teaser site for the upcoming pocketable edition of Final Fantasy IV.

The official japanese website for Final Fantasy IV Advance is up, though at this point it is little more than a teaser site. Nevertheless, watch the flash opening (accompanied by the stirring trademark Final Fantasy themesong) and you will see a special Gameboy Micro faceplate that will be made available around the game's release. The faceplate is beautifully embossed with Yoshitaka Amano art, the serie's artist up till Final Fantasy VI. It is not yet certain if the faceplate will be a special limited edition item or up for grabs by anyone (in Japan) who purchases the game.

Another interesting potential bit of information perceptively caught by GamesAreFun is a simple "FF" logo that seems to hint at more FF titles planned for the Advance. Having already recieved Final Fantasies I + II last year, with FFIII in the works for DS and now FFIV Advance, are FFV and the particularly beloved FFVI an eventuality? Hopefully so as Square-Enix possesses a tremendous backlog of legendary 16-bit classics that fans would no doubt love to have rereleased and available to play on-the-go.

Again, you can access the teaser site right here. Final Fantasy IV Advance is currently scheduled for a late 2005 release. More on the game and its special GBA enhancements as they are revealed.
