Games coming as soon as this Autumn, and will feature distinct packaging...
Kotaku reports that the first wave of DSi-exclusive retail games are well on the way, and look set to ship this Autumn. There's no word on specific titles, but it would look like third parties will be first to the party, rather than Nintendo's own games.
There has already been a range of software exclusively available to DSi-owners, but these have so far remained confined to small digital downloads via the DSiWare Shop. Retail DSi titles would be expected to take advantage of the hardware perks on offer to developers, including the built-in camera and that little extra tech-spec boost under the bonnet compared to the DS and DS Lite.
Word is also coming in on how DSi software will be physically presented to consumers. The games will come packaged in all-white cases, as opposed to the translucent boxes of DS titles. There will also be a notice on the box informing us that it is will only work with a DSi. On top of this, DSi cards will be dressed in nice, white plastic themselves.
We hope to have much more specific information on DSi-only software in the near future, so stay tuned!
