News: First Pics Of Wii & DS Clone Wars Titles

First screens inside for the upcoming uniquely controlled lightsaber titles for both Wii and DS!

Star Wars returns to cinema screens this year with The Clone Wars, a computer-animated film bridging the gap between Episode II and Episode III. What better excuse for both of Nintendo's platforms to receive some lightsaber-focused goodness?

For the Wii, Star Wars The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels has been built from the ground-up specifically for Nintendo's motion-sensing beast, and thus features an intuitive motion-controlled combat system that allows players to finally wield a lightsaber with their Wii Remote.

The game will contain the most memorable duels from The Clone Wars feature film and TV series, from Tatooine to Teth, as well as plenty of familiar characters - from Anakin Skywalker and General Grievous, along with new faces as well. Players will be able to exploit their interactive surroundings to defeat opponents, eg. slicing down pillars and using the Force to throw them against your foe.

For the DS meanwhile comes Star Wars The Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance, which will allow players to experience the combined power of two Jedi, who have joined forces to fight as one. This time it is innovative stylus-based input that controls the Jedi's movement and lightsaber combat skills.

The story of Jedi Alliance has been written exclusively for the DS, with familiar Jedi Masters and Padawans like Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, or Ahsoka Tano with Mace Windu also set to be playable. Players must strengthen the relationship between master and apprentice to generate more powerful attacks and special abilities. The ability to replay missions with different character combinations allows gamers to unlock new areas, collectibles, and other secrets.

The title also features drop-in/drop-out co-op via Wireless, and is controlled entirely by stylus! The first shot of the title can be seen below...

More as we get it, dear bantha fodder readers!
