News: FlatOut Stunt Mode Information

Do you enjoy performing death-defying stunts in your spare time? Then FlatOut's stunt mode is ideal for you.

The FlatOut series has continuously boasted an enjoyable stunt mode that lets you crash through your windshield and fly for hundreds of meters. In the upcoming Wii version developers Team6 are set to include a new "Nightmare" mode.

This new mode is darker than the normal stunt mode and promises greater challenges. The official press release claims it will make you sit back and claim "wow.. looks amazing.. but what is it? Is this even possible to complete? This is insane!"

Team6 have also introduced a 2-player stunt mode whereby you perform stunts together. You can either chose to perform stunts together to gain more points or disturb each other in mid-air. Both players are driving the control, which can lead to problems if you want to do different things, but once the first place ejects then the action becomes split screen.

In addition to the stunt mode FlatOut is set to feature three other modes; racing, trash and arena. The racing mode requires you to not only race against your foes but also destroy them in whatever manner possible. This mode will be set across a number of locations and can be played with friends.

Trash mode is specifically designed for the Wii version and is all about breaking stuff using any weapon of choice (for example baseball bats, crowbars etc). You must destroy your opponents car as much as possible until they don't want it any more, at which point it becomes yours.

Arena mode promises a "true death trap" as you must navigate ramps, loops and traps such as the "melting pit" or the "spike pit" as you and your friends try and survive.

“Team6 pushed the Nintendo Wii to its limits with the new FlatOut, in terms of visuals and performance. Everybody told us that what we intended to do with FlatOut is simply not possible on a Wii, but we managed to do it anyway. All the effects, physics, damage system, visual detail, it’s all in there. It took a lot from the team to get this title in such good shape on this platform, but it was worth our efforts, for sure. FlatOut Wii has become a very good, brutal, aggressive and high speed racing game that will hopefully be appreciated by a lot of gamers.”
