It looks like Mario & Sonic aren't the only ones having an Olympic tournament.
Atari have announced Asterix as the Olympic Games for Wii, PS2 and DS; and it will follow the plot of both the comic and upcoming film of the same name. In aid of their lovesick friend Alafolix; Asterix, Obelix and Dogmatix must travel to Greece to compete against Brutus, Julius Caesar and the rest of the Roman Empire in the Olympic Games.
You control Asterix, Obelix or Dogmatix in a quest to stop Brutus who has opened the gates between the worlds of the book, the film and the game. For those expecting a simple minigame affair - that's catered for in a separate minigame mode that is based around the games themselves, and features a 2-player mode (no 4 player here).
Asterix as the Olympic Games is planned for release this winter.
