Professor Layton and the Last Specter has been trademarked in America.

It would appear that the ever-gentlemanly professor is returning to Western shores soon. Siliconera has spotted that Level-5 has just trademarked Professor Layton and the Last Specter in America, suggesting the game is due to be released soon.

Last year a trademark for Professor Layton and the Unwound Future was spotted just before E3 and it was confirmed during the conference. Hopefully this will be the case with Last Specter as Western gamers have been waiting two years for its release.

The title, the fourth in the series, is the beginning of the prequel series and explains how the professor first met his assistant Luke.
