Nintendo of Europe announces the release of the Game Boy Player, coming to Europe for the 20th June 2003. Game Boy, the most successful video game system ever, is about to get even bigger!
Over 1000 Nintendo games will soon be playable on TV screens through one Nintendo console. The Game Boy Player is a small platform which allows users to connect their Game Boy games to a NINTENDO GAMECUBE and play their favourite games on a TV screen. Virtually all Game Boy games will be compatible with the system - from Game Boy Advance audio-visual treats such as Metroid Fusion, to Game Boy and Game Boy Color classics like Tetris. The Game Boy Player brings a whole new era to large screen gaming.
Connecting to the bottom of the NINTENDO GAMECUBE, the Game Boy Player allows players to use either their console controller or their Game Boy Advance to direct the action on screen.
An extra port for Game Boy Advance Link Cable usage means gamers can hook up to friends' Game Boy Advance systems for a multiplayer party with compatible games. And because the Game Boy Player plugs into the Hi-Speed Port on the bottom of the NINTENDO GAMECUBE, the Serial Ports are left free for your Nintendo GameCube Modem Adapter or Broadband Adapter.
The Game Boy Player, released on 20th June, will be bundled with the NINTENDO GAMECUBE as an official pack, priced at around 199 Euros. The Game Boy Player will also be available to purchase separately at around 60 Euros. Members of www.nintendo-europe.com will also be able to obtain the Game Boy Player as part of an exclusive offer!
