Several game creators were interviewed in the latest Famitsu issue, and gave their views on the upcoming Revolution console.
The Japanese gaming magazine, interviewed various game developer's on their thoughts about Nintendo's successor to the Gamecube, starting with Sega's Yuji Naka, the creator of the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
He said he looked forward to the "new kind of fun" and that he expected a lot of surprises, namely the new controller. He also expressed enthusiasm about the games available by download. "I hope Sega games will be playable as well," he said.
Former Capcom producer Noritaka Funamizu, commented that the "distinct kind of fun", different from the way the PS3 and Xbox are headed is what interests him, although little information has been released thus far.
Echoing that point, Tecmo's Keisuke Kikuchi producer said that it was difficult to comment since so little information had been announced, but that he was looking forward to the controller.
From Software's Masanori Takeuchi said the Revolution was a console experienced gamers could drool over. "It still has some mysteries, but it's not too difficult to imagine what the machine can do, so there should be people that are clearly looking forward to purchasing it," he said, and also cited the DS link-up as an interesting prospect.
Finally, Koei's Kou Shibusawa said he looked forward to playing old games on it he had a fondness for using the download feature, and said that "aside from having good graphics, the Revolution's uniqueness and concentration towards gameplay should make it a product that's good towards all ages."
Hopefully all the developers will still be as enthusiastic when the Revolution is fully unveiled later this year!
