Struggling UK retailer GAME will not be offering the special edition version of Nintendo's The Last Story, it has emerged just days before the game's release.

Customers were themselves left to discover today that the special edition had been removed from GAME's website. The company later confirmed that the SKU will not be stocked, despite the previous listing.

For those who pre-ordered the special edition with GAME, it is not clear how GAME plan to proceed with fulfilling orders. There are suggestions that the order will automatically be switched to the standard edition of the standalone game, but the retailer has still not directly contacted consumers with any information about this.

Other online retailers in the UK are continuing to offer the special edition version.

It is the second time in as many weeks that a Nintendo-distributed product has been dropped by GAME at the last, following news that Tekken 3D would not be stocked. Fresh questions are now raised about the beleaguered retailer's relationship with one of its most important suppliers.
