Store closures already happening...

GAME Group plc, owner of the GAME and Gamestation retailer chains, has announced this morning that it has officially entered administration.

Administrators from PricewaterhouseCoopers say they are confident a sale of the business can be secured, and insisted that there was room for a specialist games retailer.

GAME Group runs over 1000 stores internationally, with over 600 of them, alongside over 5000 staff, being based in the UK. Many across the UK are today finding their local stores closed, with over 1000 jobs reported to have been lost.

GAME plans to continue operating for as long as possible, but is suspending pre-orders and its reward and gift-card schemes until further notice.
