Nintendo of America yesterday announced that sales of its Gamecube console went through the roof and into the atmosphere during November.
According to sales data, the Gamecube sold over 750,000 units during the period -important to Americans for the "Thanksgiving" holiday, proving that price cuts CAN work wonders. Also, Mario Kart: Double Dash was the number one selling game for the month weighing in at a hefty 500,000 copies sold!
This news is even more phenomenal when viewed in light of the fact that the game was only on sale for two weeks of the month!
However, the PS2 still continues to outperform the Cube. It sold 850,000 units -100,000 more than the Cube. The Xbox however, had a very poor showing (comparatively speaking) managing a still-quite-impressive 490,000 units.
But of course, leading from the front was everybody's portabla pal, the Game Boy Advance which sold a trouser-dropping 1.3 million units! All sounds like good news Stateside as Nintendo enters the holiday period.
