News: Games Industry Raises Tsunami Funds

Like many other institutions the games industry are helping raise money after the recent tsunami disaster in Asia.
The Entertainment Software Charity has created a fund to help those who have suffered in the recent tsunami disaster. There has been an initial pledge by the ESC of �50,000.
"The ESC has decided to co-ordinate efforts for the games industry and get funds to places where they are most needed," said ESC CEO Mark Strachan.
Strachan explains that while the company are aware that many individuals and companies may have already donated he states, "researching the right places so the right people are helped".

Similarly Vue Cinema West End in Leicester Square, London have donated one of their large screens for a games tournament this weekend. The event will run from 9am to 5pm Saturday the 8th and Sunday 9th.
To enter the tournament it costs �3 or �1.50 to watch. Participants will be in with the chance to win games and consoles and all the money raised will go towards the Disaster Emergency Committee.
