The annual Gamescom Awards are due to take place next week. Look below to find out who has been nominated.

Next week members of the gaming industry will flock on Cologne to attend the annual Gamescom event that sees a host of upcoming games on show for all to enjoy. Every year the event kicks off with an awards ceremony that honours the titles on show and this year a number of games on Nintendo's consoles have been nominated

Nintendo's own Mario Kart 7, or Mario Kart 3D as its referred to in the awards nominations list, has been nominated for Best Mobile Game. This is the only Nintendo game to get an award nomination although games that will be available for Nintendo consoles have also been nominated. The nominated games are Ubisoft's Rayman Origins, which has been nominated for Best Family Game, as well as Batman: Arkham City and Fifa 12 which have been nominated for Best Console Game.
