If you've yet to take a dip in the travel friendly waters of portable gaming goodness, but aren't too psyched for either the DS or the PSP then this little tidbit may interest you.

N-sider is claiming to have received word that Nintendo will be lowering the price of the GBA SP in the US sometime this September. The impending launch of the DS is thought to be the main factor in the decision to lower the price of the SP.

According to multiple sources, the new official price of the unit will be $79.99. However, you might find a new GBA SP for as little as $70 depending on where you shop.

This price drop has not been confirmed yet, but according to multiple sources Nintendo will make an announcement very soon. A similar European GBA SP price cut is thought to be a few months down the road.
