News: GC mags sales decline

GameCube magazines have been some of the worst to feel the impact of poor sales - that's official. Whereas Future's Official PlayStation 2 Magazine sales rose 138 per cent year on year to 195,293, EMAP Active's Nintendo Official Magazine saw a circulation dip of around 24 per cent. Suprisingly, the magazine still leads over Future Publishing's far superior GameCube rag NGC Magazine which has a circulation of 30,626. NOM's figures clock in at a buxom 42,014. Despite sexy overhauls, the numbers are not all too healthy for the Nintendo magazines. Interestingly, sales of the Nintendo Official Magazine are still riding high over rival FXM's Xbox publication.
The increasing popularity of the internet has been a major factor in the fall of magazine sales. Sites like Cube Europe can provide gamers with a worthy alternative. Shelling out a few quid or euros on getting your gaming-fix is now longer the only option, but some will argue that nothing compares to a good read of your favourite magazine. The choice is yours my friends.
