Nintendo grab gold at the 2004 Golden Joystick Awards

Another year, another Golden Joystick Awards ceremony. This year saw a strong showing from Nintendo at the annual event, with the Japanese giant picking up three awards.

Unsurprisingly, they picked up the "Gamecube Game Of The Year" in the charmingly fun Mario Kart: Double Dash!! Furthermore, the Game Boy Advance SP: Nes Edition went on to beat all-comers in the "Hardware Of The Year" category.

However, most excitingly for fans of Nintendo -and gamers in general, the next incarnation of the Legend Of Zelda picked up the gong for "Most Wanted Game For 2005".

The importance of a realistic version of Link cannot be ignored in the consciousness of the games-playing public after the exceelent (if a little short) but graphically unappealing Wind Waker.
